It’s a new year, and there’s so much going on here at Riverwalk! Residentially speaking, the popularity of lots in the first three phases has prompted the release of a fourth phase scheduled to open by summer 2016!

The Upper Palmetto YMCA has officially opened its newest location at 998 Riverwalk Parkway. The new center features a group fitness room, cycling room and yoga studio. The 15,000 square feet space also offers cardio equipment, weight equipment, free weights and a functional fitness area. CEO Moe Bell said, “We are excited to open this new facility in partnership with the Riverwalk development. We believe that the YMCA fits right in with the active lifestyle that Riverwalk promotes.”

The Piedmont Medical Center Trail connector is now open for walking, running and biking to nearby River Park. The newly finished section of trail allows users to start the one-way, 3.35-mile trip from Riverwalk or River Park. With a brand new canopy-covered bridge, the enhancement is a lovely addition to the City of Rock Hill’s existing 26 miles of walking trails throughout the Rock Hill community.
One of the Charlotte-area’s fastest growing churches has plans to build a 34,000-square-foot campus in Riverwalk. Elevation Church, which holds weekly services at Sullivan Middle School on Cherry Road in Rock Hill, has submitted plans for a new building, including 700 parking spaces, at the corner of Eden Terrace Extension and Cel River Road, on 11 acres of vacant land.

The Grapevine Wine Shop/Wine Bar officially opened in Riverwalk! Their multi-purpose space is home to both a retail shop where you may purchase wines, beer, accessories and cigars as well as an on-site bar area where you can enjoy wine, beer, artisan cheese and desserts in the company of your friends and neighbors! It’s definitely worth a visit on a Friday or Saturday evening. Check it out and let us know what you think!

So what else is coming to Riverwalk?  The Pump House is a soon-to-be-open restaurant right on the Catawba River.  Its rooftop decks offer dramatic and gorgeous views of the river, which supplied water to the Celanese plant.  It has plans to open in late March so plan a fun day or night out and enjoy a delicious meal.As you can tell, the lifestyle at Riverwalk cannot be beat. From the 3-mile Riverwalk trail that is part of the greater Carolina Thread Trail system, to the Rock Hill Outdoor Center, to the location on the peaceful banks of the Catawba River, this planned 1,008-acre village is an extraordinary addition to the historic City of Rock Hill.
