Downtown Belmont coffee shop makes a new home in an old train station

Our friends at the Charlotte Five captured just what Downtown Belmont is all about in this post about Mugshots Coffee.  (This is another reason why we love Belmont NC and because we love coffee!)

Last time I met with Reuben Silberman, his coffee shop Mugshots was in a tiny space on Main Street in downtown Belmont. There was barely room for four people, and those people better have been comfortable with each other. Space was tight.

Two years later, Mugshots has outgrown its small quarters. It moved this week to an old train station, built in the early 1900s. The new space is a few blocks from the original location and in the center of downtown Belmont. The coffee shop has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It boasts 16-foot high ceilings and large windows. Bicycle-themed decor, an open layout and the friendly staff make for a relaxed vibe. MORE
