Cooking on the Rachel Ray Show

Categories: Good Info to Know | Posted: March 3, 2011 | Comments Off on Cooking on the Rachel Ray Show

I am at the Thermador Bosch Appliance National Training Center in Phoenix, AZ. It is an amazing experience and very informative.

I am here with a group of custom builders from across the US. We are here to learn about the new appliance technology and energy efficiency options. This company is very cutting edge in style, function and energy efficiency. I am proud to say that there will be Thermador appliances in our Homearama home this fall.

Thermador has a patented star burner design (even heating) and an exclusive simmer feature (XLO burner). The burner actually cycles off and on creating an ideal simmer temperature. This is a problem for lesser cooktops. Did you know Thermador invented the wall oven?

We not only learned about the appliances, we used them! We cooked dinner with the help of the renown Thermador chefs. This is a show kitchen! Just like a TV cooking show (think Rachel Ray Show) All the ingredients were nicely measured out, utensils lined up and cameras flashing. The picture is me cooking brussel sprouts. Yes, those are even better on a Thermador.

A great experience and a great deal of product knowledge. Thank you for inviting me.

There is Nothing to Do Here?

We are often ambassadors for the  neighborhood as we meet lot of people from other parts of the country (and world sometimes). Often they are drawn to visit because pretty pictures on a website or a friend of a friend’s post on Facebook. Undestanding the look of the neighborhood is easy. They drive around and see it.

Then comes “what else is going on the neighborhood?” We are waiting for this! We say “Where do you want to begin? The movies in the park, the Spring Fling, St Patrick’s Day event, Daddy Daughter Tea, live music, the trails. Or, would you rather hear about the many clubs and groups that meet regularly? Maybe you would be interested in the swim team for the kids or water aerobics for the the young at heart?”

It is a proud moment when we can brag about everything that is happening at Baxter Village.

Take a look at this link to the current Baxter Bulletin – the neighborhood newsletter.

Homearama is Coming to Baxter Village

Categories: Homearama 2011 | Posted: February 18, 2011 | Comments Off on Homearama is Coming to Baxter Village

We are very excited to announce that Baxter Village will be home to the 2011 HomeArama event.  HomeArama is an annual home tour sponsored by the Home Builders Association of Charlotte where multiple builders showcase model homes on a single street.  Evans Coghill Homes is  proud to be part of the team and will be building a right sized home plan for today’s buyer.

The Charlotte HBA has been promoting HomeArama for over 20 years in the Charlotte region, and the tour attracts anywhere from 10,000 to 25,000 visitors over a 16 day period.  This is great exposure for Baxter and the participating builders!  The builder team this year includes David Weekley Homes, DR Horton Homes, Evans Coghill Homes, New Old Homes, and The Designer Collection by True Homes.  The tour dates are September 23 – October 9.

Stay tuned for more details.
