Often, the office phone rings and someone unknowingly ask to speak to “Evans Coghill”. We explain there is no one by that name. That it is actually a combination of the names of two people who represent our values.

The “Evans” part of Evans Coghill harkens back to Lula Evans Folk from Pendleton, SC, the grandmother of Evans Coghill co-founder, Chris Folk, Jr. The “Coghill” portion is taken from my grandmother, Margaret Coghill Borkey of Bowling Green, VA.

These two ladies had a profound effect on us. Chris and I remember fondly the time we spent with our grandmothers growing up, and the lessons we learned from their unquestionable wisdom. We recognized that many of the same values our grandmothers held true were the same ones we were using to build this company.  So we decided that there was no better way to be reminded of our values on a daily basis than to incorporate our grandmothers into our company’s name.
